Ash Wednesday

I am your merciful Lord. Come back to Me.
Hear My voice and harden not your heart.
Proclaim a fast and be of self-restraint. Be gracious,
slow to anger, and rich in kindness. You must repent
and ask for forgiveness for the evil done in My sight.
Then I will create for you a clean heart.
Give alms, pray, and fast with joy and humility.
Seek the wisdom of heart
found in self-sacrifice this Lent.
